Great success for the scientists at the Institute of Microwaves and Photonics (LHFT). The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved the funding of a Research Training Group (RTG) called “Cooperative Aperture Synthesis for Radar Tomography” (KoRaTo). The RTG KoRaTo aims to achieve a new quality of radar remote sensing, based on cooperative UAV swarms, for geoscientific earth observation. Within the consortium, the LHFT is responsible for researching cutting-edge wireless localization and radar technologies. The LHFT will participate in KoRaTo with Professor Martin Vossiek (vice spokesperson of the RTG) as well as Professor Gerhard Krieger, Ms. Ingrid Ullmann and two research assistants.
