Vita

Christian Carlowitz wurde 1985 in Wolfenbüttel geboren. Nach dem Abitur studierte er Informationstechnik an der Technischen Universität Clausthal und schloss das Studium 2010 als Diplomingenieur ab. Anschließend wechselte er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an die Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) und promovierte dort 2018 am Lehrstuhl für Hochfrequenztechnik mit dem Thema “Drahtlose Hochgeschwindigkeitskommunikation mit Regenerativer Abtastung”. Er leitet als akademischer Rat seit 2018 die Arbeitsgruppe “Microwave and Photonic Systems”.
Seine Forschung umfasst die Konzeption, den Entwurf sowie die Realisierung von innovativen Systemarchitekturen für Radar- und Kommunikationsfrontends im Bereich von Mikrowellen, mm-Wellen und optischen Frequenzen. Schwerpunkte seiner Arbeit stellen sowohl Verfahren zur analogen und digitalen Signalverarbeitung als auch Hardwarekonzepte für extrem breitbandige Systeme zur Hochgeschwindigkeitskommunikation, Full-Duplex Transceiver im Bereich Mobilfunkanwendungen, Massive MIMO Basisstationen und zur Ortung und Kommunikation mit mm-Wellen RFID Systemen dar.
Dr. Carlowitz ist Mitglied der IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) sowie Teil des IEEE MTT-S Technical Coordinating Committee Digital Signal Processing (MTT-9). Er ist regelmäßiger Reviewer für die Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques und mehrere internationale, von MTTS gesponsorte Konferenzen wie IMS, EuMW, ICMIM und GeMIC.
